Pharmaceutical Company uses Cognex Insight Smart Camera to guide 5 Axis codian (Mitsubishi) Robot ASC in collaboration with Ensign Laboratories have worked together on building a robot cell for automatic bottle sorting and placement. Traditional mechanical bottle sorting systems are large and require expensive change parts and hours of adjustment when moving from one size bottle to another tells Ensigns Engineering Manager Rod Sutherland. “We were looking for an automated option to allow our operators to complete a quick changeover between products from one shaped & size bottle to another. We partnered with ASC for its experience in machine vision, robotics and overall electrical automation skills. Codian was selected as a robot vendor as it allowed us to add a 5th axis and for us to utilize Mitsubishi servo motors and robot controller. The project was a great success and we look forward to working with ASC on projects in the future.”

Design, installation, commissioning and training were handled by ASC with professionalism and proficiency.
